L’isle sur la Sorgue

Our private hideaway is just a 15 minute riverside walk from to our favourite town, L’isle sur la Sorgue, with its waterfront cafés, restaurants & wonderful Sunday street market offering everything from fresh local produce to fine Italian clothes. This historic town is one of the biggest antique & collectables centres in France from cheap bric-a-brac in the market right up to high end antiquities in the showrooms.

L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is a very pleasant town to walk around with its narrow winding streets & little footbridges that take you over the waterways. The old town has a fabulous array of independent shops, bars & restaurants lining the historic streets with the occasional courtyards filled with artists, designers & antiquaries offering their wares. The beautiful 13th century Notre-Dame des Anges church is well worth a visit being one of the most richly decorated baroque churches in the South.
